I made it back

In one piece ... my bank card is a little shaky but i survived !!

We managed to get

1. a pair of nice trainers = thrilled twin 1
   
2. me some jeans .. normally a nightmare as i am really fussy about jeans
   
3. boys boardshorts = happy twin1 again
   
4. 2 saltrock t-shirts = happy boys
   
5. a roxy t-shirt = happyish Shezzie
   
6. a stripey dress = not to impressed Kitts ... she wanted lots of things but none were in her size , so Mummy promised to sew some skirts for her !!
   
7. some pots for my buttons
   
8. pretty teatowels
   

oooooh and i treated myself to a wonderful book
all that and with a very painful and dodgy eye ... photos tomorrow !!

I have also started work on the zippy purse tutorial
just the photos to do !!
Its just taking a little time with only being able to see out of one eye ;0)

so when i get back from the shopping expedition ...

So if i make it back in one piece i will take photos while making up some purses
even the zippy bit ;0)

Heres another shot of my fave flower at the moment ... yes i know its a weed to most but take a minute and look at the wonderful deep colour !!

I am getting into my photos at the moment and have decided to get some printed
as postcards and some larger photos to frame and have on the wall .
Hopefully this weekend i can get out to play with my camera and use the new filters that my darling Chrissy has bought me !!

first to the left a bit misty today but you can usually see fields and hedgerows

then to the right , you can just about see the hills which lead you over to the goyt valley

and finally the field behind our house

holiday mode !!

I somehow seem to have slipped into "holiday mode"
im not sure how because i was working sooo well but yep its happened

So to try and counteract this i am back to writing lists
and to hopefully shame myself into getting things done
im going to list them here !!

So today i will mostly be making these

They are still my best seller at the moment

if i can get my bum in gear and make enough i will update my etsy shop and the good old ebay shop as well with brooches
and some lovely headscarf type things i have made for little girlies for the summer

It is school holidays here too and having to keep the kidlets happy is not easy when the farmer is in the process of spreading all and i mean ALL the fields around us so they cannot really play out ... this is so kind of him just in time for my daytrip out tomorrow !!
I so love walking around Manchester smelling like a farmer !!
Dont get me wrong its great being surrounded by all the fields just a minute ago i watched a huge big hare run down the field that was cut at weekend and its sooo nice to look out over the fields in a morning and see all the wildlife
It will be very difficult to leave here and we know finding just the right place to move to is going to be hard work but hey thats a choice we have made and i know living in Cornwall will be wonderful !!

Countdown

yep im on a countdown to my first small summer fair of the year
and also the re-launch of my new look website !!

I have taken a lot of things off the website and added some new pretty things
that are a bit more exclusive i think !!!

I have also been contacted by the business link to see if i needed anything
oooh yes please i need some help writing a press release and also a little fair help too !!
These are a great bunch of people and can provide you with all sorts of advice !!

Im hoping for a bit of nice weather so i can get out and take some shots of my new stock
i also have a pile of new old fabric to wash and iron . I love his bank holiday weekend there are always loads of car boot sales to find some more treasures !! I have a list of things i really want but i am a oh just buy it because you know you want it kind of girl ... much to poor old Chrissys's desperate pleas of do you really need that pile of junk ;0)
So i hope you all have a great weekend and i will catch up with my tag post this weekend and shock horror i have nearly done my PIF'S they just need a few finishing touches and they will be on their way !!

1. What was i doing ten years ago

well i was extremely ( think beached whale size ) pregnant with my twin boys !!
I was a size 8 before i was pregnant and the boys were both a healthy 5lbs plus each
yep i was huge !!! I also managed to crack my pelvis while pregnant so it wasnt a dream pregnancy !!

2. 5 things on my to do list today

Ahhh lists my fave ;0)

1. make at least 10 childrens bandannas
   
2. brush and mop my kitchen floor
   
3. wash some fabric
   
4. list some things on ebay
   
5. try and figure out a dress pattern in my new Japanese book !!

now thats a hard one it would have to be urm ...
Chocolate or pringles depending on my mood !

move to Cornwall ok i know thats a surprise ....
i would by a house that i have loved for years
it is right next to the beach at Constantine bay !!
Buy my children a house each !!
Go to New Zealand , Cambodia , China , Japan , Iceland , Canada
India to start with !!
Open some refuges for victims of domestic abuse !!
Of course i would give a big chunk to charity as well !!

oh i forgot buy myself a flip paint db7 and my lovely Chrissy the car of his dreams !!

Last weeks finds !!

I had a pretty hectic week last week
first and most important my wonderful son was 21
yes and my do o feel old now !!

Tuesday is course day
i was pleased that my photos had turned out well


and was pleased with the new things that i have learnt already !!

after my course finishes i have about 45 mins to waste and luckily for me there are a couple of really good charity shops there !!
I didnt find anything in the first one but OMG the next one made up for it
i got a huge big piece of this

( sorry it needs ironing )
you see i said it was good
there were a few other nice bits of fabric for 50p yes i know it would of been rude not to buy them !!

The rest of the week was filled with lots and lots of sewing

to round the week of nicely i sat and did these on Saturday afternoon while watching the footy !!



So that was my week

Im going to have a bit of a rant here so please excuse me .....
it all started last night with some shall we say "family issues"
then this morning while i was trying to package up last nights orders , drink tea , check emails and
then i check for any jobs for me or himself on the websites i look on nearly everyday !!

Any way can you guess my excitement when i found himself a job in Cornwall
for 23k per annum ???
So i grabbed the phone and called as he had just left for work and got a flat no ,
what was that did you just said .... NO !!

Well thats really annoyed me i would swear but if i start i dont think i will stop
im so fed up with flipping excuses why we wont be going this year
i know we havent saved enough money yet and that i have loads of work on for this year but 23k per annum
thats a lot more than he is on now !!!
I keep finding jobs for myself but i dont
see many for himself so this was a real surprise to find it !!

so anyway im off to do the school run and see if i can catch a glimpse of the bomber heading to Derwent dam !!
One flew over the other day and i missed it ... story of my life that ;0)

Back again now no bomber insight
feeling a little calmer now , so heres a bit more news of what i have been doing

I have closed my website for a few weeks as well ,
im changing the content and adding lots of new old things and some vintage fabric !!

Im also wanting to produce more one off pieces again
my little tote bags and plain shoppers will only be available from my ebay shop and maybe etsy

The flowers will be a big part of what im doing !!!
I feel i have to try and produce a more happy medium in my work
ok i have to pay bills but i also feel i am not working to my full potential

so watch this space ;0)

Oh wow hasnt the weather been nice ??

Any way yesterday i got up a the crack of dawn to drag my self and himself and kidlies
to the carboot sale !!
Well we did a good morning and i managed to clearout out some of my fabric collection
and i only spent 1.20 on a couple of things which i will take photos of tomorrow !!

I had a lovely day sat out in the garden when we got back doing a little hand sewing and finished off a pile of smocks and bags which will be for the summer fair im going to .
And guess what i didnt take a photo all day !!


heres some pretty forget me knots from my garden taken last week !!

Today we took the boys to Manchester museum
i will post about this later on in the week right now my feet hurt and i need to sort out my photos for tomorrow mornings class x x

I have had such a busy week
i have made tons of stuff and been out taking photos on my course .
Im very critical of my own work ... yeh i know your surprised ;0)
I love taking photos but my florists background gives me the eye , you know the one
the that means everything has to be staged perfectly one !!
I did win the Christmas window dressing comp 2 years running when we had the shop !!

So im not really a snap a 100 shots kinda girl and edit when you get home but thats what we were asked to do .... take loads of shots and next week we edit !!

so as i have a mountain of stuff to make before we hit the surf in a few weeks

arghhhhhh !!!

were has this week gone
iam getting really behind with blogging on both blogs
my poor old website is waiting to be updated
the etsy shop needs filling up with lovely new goodies
and never mind anything else ;0)

So what have i been doing
well actually i have been sewing ... i know shocking isnt it !!
I have a list of what i have made
and some photos but thats for later

first i want to say a huge big thank you for my lovely PIF gift from
the wonderful Dotty Designs

yes i managed to take a photo before a ripped open the package ;0)

and look what was in there ... all these goodies
but i have to say this is my fave thing and just what i need
perfect for when i help when we have sewing at school
and it will go very nicely in my holiday sewing bag

thank you sooooo much

and
i will be doing my PIF soon
i do have to catch up and send out the last one i did
well it does give you a while to do it
in fact i think thats one of the things i will do on my holidays
so you may get some wonderful Cornish fudge as well ;0)

Its all clear now

I have sat and thought about it all
firstly i never wash my clothes on a hot wash
apart from bedding and towels it all goes on a warm wash

so im going to do a warm wash trial !!

Thicker t-shirts dont cost that much more
and the t-shirts i have seen for sale with applique
are a lot more that i thought of charging !!

I have done mine as what Vanessa would call add-on sales
and also to balance out the handmade tie tops which i have made in baby sizes !!

My designs seem to have more detail and therefore are more unique than
simple design just stitched round the edge !!

Not that im dissing anyone elses work .. god forbid after Easter !!


Im going to finish them all and put them on sale and see what happens
yes Vanessa im biting that bullet !!!

i have now listed both of these t-shirts on ebay

A bit bus like !!

No thats no a reference to my shape !!

I mean the posts .. none for a few days and then loads !!

So you have seen my cat .. the next one is on the production line with pupils ;0)
I have a few dilemmas ... my god im a drama queen !!

Anyway before i get side tracked
I like to sew in black thread but im a bit worried it may run if washed on a hot wash ?
Im not to happy with the actual t-shirt quality call me a snob if you like
but i like good thick t-shirts !!
Not saying these are crappy t-shirts i just wish they were a bit thicker


This is the first car ( see what i mean about the light )
i have another one which is more beetle like a bit more car and a bit curvier
and some other designs waiting to be finished !!



The next lot will be done on either Next or M&S t-shirts
but again theres another problem will people pay more for a better quality t-shirt ??


I would take photos of what i have made today ...
imagine a big beetle
car that is but the light is ..... well actually there isnt any !!!

Ive been thinking about a price for these t-shirts
i think the ones i have made so far
there are 5 of them altogether
will be 6.00 each including postage to the UK or
as i would list it in my ebay shop 4.75 with 1.25 p+p !!!

Oh i have been a bad blogger !!
Im sorry for the lack of posts but i have had such a busy week
I have started my 10 week digital imaging and photography course
which i have to say is brilliant

While i was out and about taking some photos


This is Torr vale mill
I love old mill buildings
I was so excited ( yes i know .. sad )
when the kidlets did about the Victorians and mill working conditions

below him is a big drop to a railway line and then an even bigger drop to the valley below


I have also been sewing and trying to get my stock levels up for the summer fairs

i am also doing a larger one for t-shirts

I am sewing like a mad thing as
well as having a big spring clean and getting unwanted
stuff on ebay !!

Workwise
I am hoping to get lots of summer bags and purses and other nice things listed in my ebay shop
im working on filling each place up for summer
ebay seemed a good place to start !!

Anyway its gone lunchtime and im still in my jammys
i have been busy tidying up ;0)

Were off to enjoy some of the sunshine
lets hope its not like last Sunday when we were
stuck out in a big thunderstorm with the kidlets and no flipping coats !!
