Pretty mess

Yes as i am sewing like a mad thing ok well except today as i feel crappy but i shall have to go do some sewing tonight !
So while i pootle along sewing pretty things if i do say so myself ;0) i have noticed i have made some pretty piles of mess so i thought i would share them with you as nothing else much has happened here apart from sewing .. oooooh the excitement of the life of a wahm !!

No but really sometimes people say to me your soooo lucky to be a stay at home mum oh and i get called a lady of leisure too ... my arse is this leisurely !!
Cooking , cleaning ok not so much of that but there's washing and folding the odd bit of ironing and chucked in there is some swimming , baking cakes and
if i am a good girl there's sewing yay !!

So yes i am lucky and i do know it too , sorry that reads a bit arsey !! What i mean is yes being a wahm is great but i do work hard as well ... sorry just nipped off and baked 24 cupcakes and cooked rhubarb for tea tomorrow ... mean while back at the castle life goes on as normal !

Just a little bit added on here ... i have to say that my life is quite laid back ! I do have to work as the only wage earner in the family but my house is not as tidy as maybe it could be as you may have guessed from my previous post !!
I don't want you to think i am having a moan here its just my daily or should i say twice weekly
ramblings with a bit of a look at wahmhood !!

Oh yes, I know exactly what you mean. Even people I'm close to, still think I've got a charmed life working at home, but it's really hard work combining that with looking after a family, running a home etc etc. Hey Ho!

I am like no I have to rush about and pick up my other little girl from nursery in a couple of hours do lunch think about tea clear up after both events entertain console etc! I usually find its freinds that dont have any children though that say things like that! very annoying.

Always remember you are doing the most important job in the world .... your home and family must always come first and just ignore the comments from others who know nothing. One of the girls I look after said to me a little while ago that when she grew up she wanted to be a stay at home mummy which I thought was lovely, she has obviously observed at such a tender age how important it is (her own mum works extremely long hours and then takes more home with her) x

Ey up bird,

Hope you have had a good week, we have not had time to catch up this week so far.

It looks like you have been very busy though.

I love your little messy piles. Very pretty fabrics! I am a SAHM and I absolutely love it. Of course it hasn't always been so fabulous, especially those days with crying babies, sickness, whinging etc. I wish I could freeze my life right now though as I am loving having my little girls at home still. We have to make life at home as enjoyable as we can.

Hope you are having a good evening!

I love your pretty mess. If only all messes were so pretty! And I don't know where people get that being a sahm or wahm is so easy and leisurely...ah well to each his own opinion. Keep up the amazing job!

Oh yes i get all the 'oh you're so lucky to be able to give up work' comments and then there are the friends who just pop in because they know I'm at home, never mind that I'm trying to work!

I get that ALL the time...lady of leisure blah blah...No actually, I work from home and when I'm not working I've got the housework, kids to pick up/entertain/feed. And far too much to do!! So GRRR pet hate of mine people saying that..LOL! x

I know what you mean, been a housewife is a job, but people think because I'm not working away from home, collecting my wages every month from the bank, they think I am lazy and do nothing! They are so wrong, I clean the house daily, wash, iron, cook and have many projects on the go also, there is nothing lazy about working in the home! xxx

Oh how refreshing to read through your blog. It is the most down to earth REAL blog I've read. I'm so glad to have found you.....will go and hit the 'follow' button and will eagerly return to visit!

I love the look on peoples faces when I bump into them and they say " oh where are you working now?" and I casually say " Oh no... I don't work... I am a kept woman!" Mr P has told me on many occasions that he could not do what I do... and does not know how I do what I do.. and if being creative and making and doing makes me happy then go for it...because me being happy means the rest of the family is happy...

Take it steady and enjoy your family... and let everyone bask in the glory that is you! (sorry had to use a quote from 3rd rock from the sun...heehee!)

Hi,

A lot of people I have spoken to think I have had it easy being at home (although "sick") for the last couple of months. I guess whatever you have you always think what you don't have is better!

Lovely pics :-)

I have a charmed life, [or so some people think] due to some eejit who ruined my "outside" working life, i am mostly stuck in the house, i hate housework yet i do sling the hoover round, a few times a year...... but it isnt charmed, its hard work... looking after a family and making stuff etc.... even if sometimes i feel like i am doing nothing, i would hate to pay a wage for all the things i do do. iyswim ....... *waffling* so i shall shut up now....

Love and hugs Honey, hope you feel better soon. :-)
