be side the seaside

on another rare day of nice weather
we packed up the truck with food and towels and of course children
our destination ... Southport

we had a walk on the beach to start with ... it didn't quite make up for not going to Cornwall but there is always something fab about walking on a beach !
We found a little quiet spot for a picnic
then headed off along the pier and then into Southport itself and its lovely shops !
I found some great treasures which i must root out ...
we are painting again so pretties are hidden away!

We had ice cream and then chips
and finished it all off with a walk to the end of the pier
all in all a perfect day out

ok i have glossed over the traffic jams
the really long walk to the car park
the tantrums
not being able to find a cash point that worked
you know all the usual things we don't mention ;o}

Very true that last paragraph!

Sounds like you had a great day though despite the above. My DH lived in Southport when he was a boy. Him and his brothers loved playing in the sand dunes. And remembers once that the sea actually froze it got so cold!

Lovley photo's too.

Hehe! Love your part at the end...it describes each day out perfectly. I sometimes take pictures of these things to remind me that I don't live in a bubble lol x
